Doing what we learned in class

My lawn mower would refuse to turn over with any speed.  So I used my meter to test the battery. It was perfectly good so I went to the starter and tested how many volts it was getting when I tried to turn the engine over.  I was only getting about 6 volts at the starter.  So I started to backtrack along the wire and when I got to the ignition solenoid I found that on one side i had 12.8 volts and on the other I had just over 6.  I replaced the solenoid and it now works great.  I know its not diesel but thought that it really reinforced what we were learning in class.  It was just like the boards in my mind.  I also finished the CAT basics that were due.  This week I learned how to relate the boards we had to do in class.  I know we did the trucks in class but doing this related way more to me for some reason and it made me understand what you were teaching us much better.
